Try My 5 Best Ways to Really Enjoy Chocolate

Baking with Chocolate Is My First Love

Tasty desserts are a thing in our household, so having something sweet to eat is always a plus. However, I’m mindful that too much sugar, fat, and empty calories are not healthy for anyone. So, I bake really healthy muffins, breads, pies, cheesecakes, and other delicious desserts.

Additionally, healthy eating is a priority for me. Furthermore, like most people, there are a few health conditions that require attention. One of them is eating well-balanced, nutritious meals.

However, this doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy chocolate now and then. My preference is always dark chocolate because of the maximum benefits it provides. Actually, there’s good research on the health effects of both chocolate and cocoa to check out. Dark chocolate especially has flavanols that help brain function.

Bottom line: Happiness is rewarding myself with simple treats – like chocolate.

Add Chocolate to Homemade Trail Mix

Another of my favorite foods for in-between meals or on the go is trail mix. However, rather than pay the costly prices for packaged mixes, I make my own. For this, I buy mixed nuts, almonds, pecans, walnuts, pistachios, and Brazil nuts from Costco or other outlets.

As an aside, do you know the three best healthy nuts? Be sure to consider them staples of trail mix.

Then, I add chocolate pieces, bits of Kind dark chocolate protein bars, Hershey’s dark chocolate kisses, or shaved chocolate bars. Isn’t this a great way to save money and satisfy your taste for chocolate and salt at the same time?

Besides, it’s another simple way to get the most use from things I always have on hand.

Snacks: An Excellent Way to Enjoy Chocolate

Who doesn’t love chocolate now and then? Sometimes, you crave something sweet. For me, nothing satisfies quite like chocolate. So, I choose Kind’s nutritious, low-sugar, or sugar-free bars. My absolute favorite is dark chocolate cherry cashew, but anything dark chocolate is delicious.

Not only does a quick chocolate snack taste great, but it also gives me a boost of energy. Besides, chocolate is well known for lifting your mood. However, remember that a little goes a long way. So, make sure your portions are reasonable.

Use as Toppings

One unique and inexpensive way I enjoy chocolate is by adding it as a topping on various foods. Besides, why pay extra or get more than you need when you can do it yourself? I use chocolate shavings, morsels, chunks, or pieces of bars because they’re always handy.

Here are some of my go-to foods that go better with a bit of chocolate:

  • Ice cream – I melt it in a bowl before I add the ice cream.
  • Muffins – Since I like my muffins warm, I put a little chocolate on each half and heat it in the microwave.
  • Dessert bread – My bread choices include banana nut loaf, date nut bread, carrot cake bread, and zucchini chocolate bread. Again, I melt a bit of chocolate to spread as a topping.

Besides, eating chocolate is how to love food and an easy way to enjoy it.

Other Unique Ways to Enjoy Chocolate

There are other ways I easily satisfy my chocolate cravings. These include some that may be surprising. For example, you don’t always need to consume them to benefit. At least, I feel that way.

Chocolate in Coffee

I also love caffeine, so another way I enjoy chocolate is chocolate-flavored coffee. The best beans are dark roast, and those with flavor hints of chocolate always spark my interest.

Besides, there are many excellent dark-roast coffees containing chocolate from Starbucks, Peets, and other popular brands.

Also, check out why I really love coffee.

Chocolate-Scented Candles and Diffusers

Who doesn’t love the scent of chocolate wafting through the air? During the holidays, especially, this makes a lot of sense for anyone wanting a more festive mood. Chocolate-infused candles and infusers could make quite a statement.

Skincare, Soaps, and Lotions with Chocolate

If caffeine is good for skincare, why not chocolate? For the record, I have a few chocolate or cocoa-scented lotions I use occasionally.

Air Freshener with Chocolate

Admittedly, I haven’t tried this yet, but it sounds delightful. Besides, it adds just another layer of goodness for those who love chocolate.

Surprise Ingredients in Food

While I don’t do this a lot, another interesting way to enjoy chocolate is in everyday cooking. Mole comes to mind, but there are other ways to use chocolate in cooking that deserve a try.

Chocolate shavings on pudding sound delicious to me. Another idea is to melt chocolate and spread it over sliced bananas and walnuts for a quick dessert.
